Two Rivers Activity Center

The journey that led to the creation of the Two Rivers Activity Center (TRAC) started in 2008 with an initial community discussion about the desire for a community recreation center. These conversations ultimately brought Zerr Berg Architects into the picture and in 2015 the project was approved by a super majority of Jamestown voters.

Phase I of the project included the main building and sports bubble. A large entrance lobby, administration areas, multiple fitness rooms for cardio and strength training, an indoor water park, locker room spaces, a four-court gymnasium with an elevated track and a full-time childcare area were all part of the build. An attached sports bubble with field turf which can convert into space for four tennis courts was also included. A big portion of this facility centers around the expansive water park that offers year-round space for  swimming, training, play and activities. The spaces were designed to accommodate anyone seeking water activities, from young children to older adults. The indoor water park includes a zero-depth entry pool with a children’s play structure, climbing wall, lazy river, lap swimming area, two water slide structure, spa and a sauna. The waterslide structure has an individual body flume as well as a single or double tube flume. The tube slides provide direct entry into the lazy river upon reading the end of the slide.

Phase II focused on adding an outdoor area complete with splash pad and supporting pool house, which is separate from the original building.

This project truly celebrates the hard work of each community member who helped make this happen. Over seven years of collaboration, discussions and groundwork by motivated and passionate locals helped solidify the plan for TRAC, which continues to support the community to this day.
