Project Description
Zerr Berg Architects was commissioned by the City of Moorhead in 2010 to design a new park shelter replacing an existing structure that had been condemned due to safety concerns. The new shelter was constructed using textured, board formed cast-in-place concrete piers and steel trusses. The performance of the new building was tested prior to the completion of construction when over 9’ of water rose on the site. After the water receded, the construction was completed in time to host a summer wedding as one of its first events. The building was selected as an ND American Institute of Architects Honor Award winner in 2012.
