Carl Ben Eielson Middle School

Built to accommodate 875 students, Carl Ben Eielson Middle School was designed with a three-story academic wing arranged in house configurations that fit eight academic teams. These house pods help encourage collaboration by creating an open space for team gatherings, events and class celebrations.

The middle school consists of 51 teaching stations including traditional classrooms, science labs, exploratory labs, music rehearsal classrooms, computer labs and classrooms and a physical education complex. The auditoria accommodates up to 350 students for lunch or up to 550 for performances.

Zerr Berg Architects received a North Dakota American Institute of Architects Award of Merit for the design of the school in 2008.
